Introduction

Welcome to SubQMod's Console and Emulator Development Site, currently a home for the advancement of the development tools for the Atari Jaguar Console and the creation and progression of console emulators.  In recent years I have worked on and released new tools such as SMAC (a Macro Assembler for the Jaguar's 68k and RISC Processors) and SLN (a linker for the Atari Jaguar).  These tools will continue to be developed, along with new ones, to ensure a current and stable development toolset is maintained.   Historically, I wrote the Jagulator emulator and other system emulators and tools so although getting on in years I am still a big kid at heart and love a good gaming session.

Site Updated and New Release of SLN (30th June 2010)

Its been far too long since I last updated the site (blimey, over a year!!!) so have started today by updating two key elements.  Firstly, the focus of the site is now to be split between Atari Jaguar development and the development on console emulators (more to come in future posts).  Additionally, I have had several requests for further development of SMAC and SLN which I am undertaking again after a break.  To kick things off I have updated SLN in the downloads section from the previously available 0.1.6 to the newer release 1.0.0.  This has been available for some time but not publically distributed.  Would be great to hear any feedback from the Jaggy Dev's out there.

SMAC v1.0.16 Released (24th June 2009)

Thanks to Promethea of the Reboot group a good few issues have been resolved in this latest release of SMAC.  Stability is very much improved and it is now proving a good replacement for Atari's MAC.  Additional good news in this release: The SMAC manual, which can be found in the binary zip file, has been updated with information on how to use the new GPU main code macros and with this release the source code is also once again available.  Please feedback any issues you find...

Development Update (23rd June 2009)

Its been a busy week for me but unfortunately not with development.  I finally ditched my old Pentium 4 development system and invested in a new dual core Intel system.  Its taken the best part of the week to get it just how I want it and now I can get back to developing once more.  I have received some great SMAC/SLN bug information from Promethea (dbug-automation) and JagMod.  I'll be working on these over the next few days and will get a release out soon.  Source code for SMAC will once again be released.
